The rules are simple for this thread:
1. React to the video(s) posted before you post. Was that a tune you cranked up? Or was it a song you had to skip?
2. Post a link to an 80s Metal Video. Feel free to post a link to a tune you like or a tune you hated. Trust me, we can have just as much fun calling out the posers as we can thrashing to the good stuff! :headbanger:
I'll kick things off with a few vids, starting with one I *like*, from Anthrax...

This was the first exposure I had to Armored Saint, loved it and bought the album later that week!

One day, as I roamed the record store, I saw a cutout go up, advertising Saxon's album The Power and the Glory... it looked so badass, made me want to take a chance and buy that album. That was a good day, I tell you...

Anthrax - I enjoyed them but had to be in a mood. I was more into Black Flag at the time.
Armored Saint - I never really gave those guys a chance. With so much great music, some just didn't make the turntable.
Saxon - Power and the Glory - Holy smokes that record cranked hard. I don't recall where I heard one of the songs or which one, but immediately went to the local disk shop ( a mafia front (which I didn't know at the time) called Tiger Records ) and had to order it. From France.
I still have it.
I never liked much from Warrant, but I enjoyed - and still enjoy - the following:
-
Yeah, Warrant had some clueless tunes in its catalogue, lol...
So, one day I turn on this new show on MTV hosted by Adam Curry... I was interested because it was called "Headbanger's Ball"... I then saw this:

Fan of Megadeth ever since.

One day, we woke up and were told that stuff like this was metal...

I thought Anthrax' response to acoustic ballad metal crap was the best: a parody!

I quite liked this when it came out.

Gotta love those early 80s videos. I mean really, really love 'em. :) And a fun remake of the old Coasters song. Lieber & Stoller for a new generation.
Speaking of those early 80s videos, the awesome, the epic, the pretty damn good song from Twisted Sister...

And perhaps the most epic use of portable fencing in a video ever in the whole history of 80s rock:

I thought this video and song was kinda lame when it came out and seemed to be extremely bothered by the fact that the two lead actors in it were not metal enough but I grew a newfound love for the song which I still have to this day when I saw Dio perform it live in 86 on the Sacred Heart tour. Even bought the limited edition 12" single.

^ A little bit of cheese goes good with about anything. :)
... and then there were my favorites... the videos that were basically live footage, no rehearsal other than every other time the song was performed on the long, hard road...

80s music videos were a thing of their own...Most of them were so stupid they were funny and some were just plain stupid.
I occationally watch them on youtube but I just prefer the songs.

Now, if you want a whole metric tonne of American cheese, here it is...
