LOL fantastic! It's cool to have a visual of where some of us live in relation to others.
-
:D Great!
Now we just need a world map as well!
-
Great , just great !!
curious as if distanced by thousands of km, we can sometimes have the same ideas.
Mine was more accurate but this one of Ty also suits me very well. This week, I was about to post the pic of my house on google map. It has been updated since a few months because I appeared (blurred) out of my car in May 2017. Now, I disappeared on the news.
I gave up at the last minute, hesitating about publishing some pretty personal data.
-
:wootwoot: that is cool Ty!!

How come I'm not on there?

^^^ I cannot remember if you have told us where you live Elves??

And your "location" is not listed in your bio, like some of the others.
-
Oh snap! I didn't know that, I thought you were doing it through IP address, my location is Central Jersey heading West.
Put me on the Map, Ty!
-
Yessir, it's might flat out here in the Zzzptm Flats.

That NE corner... you must all be just down the street from each other? No! :P

We should all meet up, anyone up for that?
-

It appears close because this is such an enormous country. It would be approximately a 3 hour drive for me to get to Bogblast Bunker, and then another 3 hours to Elvestown. You may have a shorter trip if you went to visit Tyr66.

Oh, I know, I was just joking.
By train (I don't drive) London to Paris is about 3½ hours on the Eurostar, and it would take me about 2 hours to get to London from Portsmouth

Ty, I don’t see Elvestown on the map, it’s the most groovinest place in the whole US of A! :abbath: :guitar: :drummer: :metal1: :headbanger:

??? You don't see Elvestown on what map?

The original posts image has been updated, that won't change the image in your "quoted" post.

Ah yes I see it now, thanks Kilo.

JtS gets *all* of Australia.
Not fair!

Typhon, you live on the Cape? Near the water?

Not on the Cape. In Southeastern Mass, just a few miles from the water.

... and again you could add 4 hours from Paris to my hometown by car , or 3 hours by train without mentionning the waiting time between train stations ! :drama:
-
^^^ Yeah, I wasn't sure where abouts you were... but 3 hours by TGV could be almost anywhere in France!

We had a holiday near there back in the early 80s. We were in a gite near Carnac, but we did visit Vannes for a day.

Thanks KDC, I just learned a new word, "gite". :)

What exactly is this map suppose to show me?

hey great , so I suppose that you had visited the fields of ancient erected stones and others dolmens ? now no one can walk among the stones anymore. The repeated trampling of tourists risked in the long run to weaken Menhirs. Nevertheless, we can admire them from a belvedere.

I do remember "ye olde standing stones", and I'm not surprised they've been protected from visitors, they have done the same to Stonehenge sadly.

Learning new words can be fun! ;)
The picture is Try66 filling in the gap in our earlier posts about how long it would take to get to his town from Paris.

Are the red and green markers routes for roads?

Wow, that seems like a lot of pay highways. Here we call them, highways with tolls, and only a small percentage of the highway system is tolled.
-

Road numbers yes.

You guys usually get the brunt of all the shitty weather.

Coolness!
You can add me to the south west corner of Finland.

So Cool , Ty !

I like it, it feels like there should be more Europeans on here, but I think that's it!

Have you always resided on the southern coast of England in Hampshire County Kilo? If so, is your football team Southhampton or Portsmouth?

For most of my life I've lived a few miles east of Portsmouth. We moved down here when I was 12.
My football allegences are complicated:
The local team I support is Portsmouth (a deep, dark rivalry exists with Southampton!!!) who have been a little up and down in recent years after going into administration in 2010 and being relegated from the Premier League. But they seem to be on the up at the moment, after former Disney CEO Michael Eisner bought the club.
I have also supported Liverpool since I was 9 after seeing them convincingly win the FA Cup in '74, I didn't have any local teams I felt like supporting... so they fit the bill.
I should also mention the new kids on the block here... my "really" local team is called Havant and Waterlooville and they are only about a mile away from my home. They are currently climbing the leagues and could be promoted into the 4th tier of English football in a year or two.
-
Now you have to put the Southern Hemisphere on the map Ty.

Ah I'm sure you're enjoying watching The Reds at the moment, Portsmouth not so much, but n saying that, theyre having a good season in league one so a chance to earn promotion to the Championship. I'm a Spurs fan myself. We've been hit by an injury curse atm and our season is starting to unravel :'(

Yes, it's not a bad season so far for Liverpool, but I feel they might blow it! But Manchester City seem less invincible than they were last season.
Portsmouth are doing well but have lost their last 3 games, including against the new leaders Luton this last week. :(
Spurs are doing well, but injuries are going to hamper them for sure, but I think 3rd is pretty much confirmed. I reckon you might lose manager Pochettino in the summer if they don't spend some cash, some big clubs are circling.
-
^^Yep, would hate to lose the Poch. He's one of the best out there and is only getting better and better as a manager. Levy needs to support him and spend some money in the transfer market. A new central midfielder and a back up striker would be good ;)
Thank fuck Son is back from the Asian Cup though.

Only 2 members from Australia, and I don't know which territory Scott is in.
