This is a help and help game: Only add points.
You can add one point per band, per post. Limit yourself to one post supporting a band per day, so we don't get overwhelmed.
When you add a point, give a reason why you're adding that point - a link to a song or album that you feel showcases the band in a great light and which other people may not be as familiar with as they are with, say "Paranoid" or "Welcome to the Jungle."
Feel free to add a band in one post and then add a point for an already-mentioned band in another post. If you add a point for another band, it could be a simple sort of, "Yeah, that was cool" sort of thing or you may have gone off to find another song from that group and really got into that one, as well. It may be that the person who recommended the first song didn't know about the one you found!
The only way to win this game is to try out a song or album somebody else recommends and discover a new band that you really enjoy.
This game is limited to bands that had their primary output in the 1970s. If their activity spilled into the 80s and beyond, that's fine, but the 70s should be considered their best years of output. If this works, feel free to make help and help games for other eras and/or genres...

I'll start off with Free.
1. Free - 1
Here's why:

I was listening to that earlier today and that guitar from Paul Kossoff really reached out to me in this bluesy, cool, rainy weather we're having here in Dallas today. It's an intense song, slow in tempo, but very deliberate and direct. If all you know is "All Right Now", you owe it to yourself to check out more of Free's catalog, as there are some real gems in it that simply don't get played on those Classic Rock 1000 playlists.

1. Free - 1
2. Slade - 1
Adding Slade because of this:

The studio version was beautiful, but the live version here made me choke up and cry a little. Brilliant stuff, wonderful song writing went into this.

1. Free - 1
2. Slade - 1
3. Kabat - 1
I don't mind if I'm the only one playing at start... but I don't mind even more if others join in. :)
Here's my vote for Czech heroes Kabat:

Skip the first 30 secs, it's all intro.

Another good one from Kabat:
