Tony Martin has posted a couple of teasers on Facebook today. He's been going though his collection of tapes and has announced that he has found 1) a Sabbath concert from 1995 in Calgary, and 2) a rehearsal copy of Evil Eye recorded with Eddie Van Halen, which sorta contradicts what Joe says on his discography page for Cross Purposes where he had heard that EVH had nothing to do with the album!

One wonders if he's finding this stuff to send it to Iommi for possible inclusion on reissues, or he's just going through his archives. Either is fine, though.

That sounds plausible.

Yes saw those too...
Has Joe really made such a claim that Eddie Van Halen had nothing to do with the album? Sounds ridiculous to me. Haven't read the discography page in ages. Joe has been known to have his own opinions color the facts before too.
Tony said in his update that Eddie actually wrote part of the song with them.
The Calgary show was straight from soundboard so it is more than possible that he is looking for stuff for the Deluxe Editions....if so that would be beyond awesome!

What Joe has in his notes on Cross Purposes includes the statement:
"Eddie Van Halen is uncredited as co-author of Evil Eye. He was supposed to play on the track, but scheduling conflicts prevented him from doing so. UPDATE: I was told in September of 2009 that EVH had nothing to do with this album at all."
I am hoping too that he is looking for stuff to include as bonus material for the Deluxe editions.

It seems like it’s taking forever for these remasters to get done, I guess it’ll be a plus for Martin, he’ll get some money out of it, I don’t know how he’s doing financially, I gather his musical career isn’t doing so good, so these remasters could bring him in some needed money and exposure.

That may be the case. As aside from some sessions etc, Martin speaks of projects that either take a while to happen or don't happen at all. That happens with every musician, but Martin's financial situation could be preventing some from happening.

I hope these remasters if they get done, help Tony Martin out financially, he deserves it.

Here's a post from Tony Martin's facebook with a picture of him and Tony Iommi:
GREAT day at Iommi towers today chatting about stuff!! … Very happy to talk about old days! .. :) … He still has the gift of riffing!!… fantastic to hear!
It seems that the two Tony's were jamming some tunes...very interesting indeed.
