This looks to be a very interesting article. The gist of it is that the push to legalize marijuana, as with every other major policy decision, comes with unintended consequences that form the ground for future legislative and policy enforcement decisions.
I invite others to read and discuss.

Read about that a few days ago. Marijuana is a medicine and like any drug it can be misused. Now I admit that sometimes I do smoke all day and get up to nothing - but I also have days where I do not smoke at all. Unless my illness really starts acting up I do strive to limit my use.
One thing I do agree with though is that yes it is addictive, but it can be overcome much easier than alcohol,opiates and other hard drugs.
Bottom line is that it has made my quality of life much better than if I did not have it. It really helps with pain and other symptoms I suffer.

Like you said, it's a medicine, and I agree strongly with that. Just like opiates shouldn't be candies, marijuana really shouldn't be seen as a party drug, but as a healing drug, same as, say ibuprofen or cough suppressant.
Sadly, people abuse even those drugs...

Yes, it will get abused if it's legalized. Guess what; it's already being abused... Legalization will gain more control over the abuse. Less "invisible addicts".
