Title: Your sources of musical discoveries to share
Post by: Tyr66 on April 08, 2018, 12:59:12 PM
For several years now, You Tube has been a very good hunting ground, letting me guide through band names,  artworks , things like that according to my mood.
But the big fountain of discovery, and there was already a lot, remains Radio Metal !!  :headbanger:

Outside of YouTube, for me it's music on LinkTV and Bandcamp.

In the 80's it was a mix of going to record stores and going through the metal section and buying albums based on the front or back cover of the album along with metal magazines like Circus, Hit Parader, Metal Hammer etc and also 2hr weekly metal radio shows.

These days it's more based around social media(metal news sites, YouTube, Facebook etc)

Yeah, many was the time when I thought that an album would rock out based on the album art alone. That's how I got into Rory Gallagher and Motorhead.
