I've whittled it down to either the first part of Thrill of it All or Wheels of Confusion, wait...or the chorus for Sabbath Bloody Sabbath...or the first part of Megalomania, or...or... Solitude...or...
What I like about these particular melodies is that they are not just the same 2 bars repeated over and over, they build and drive forward.
What are yours?

Damn Sicko you read my mind. I was thinking about one melody each from the Great 8. I'm still workin' on it so I'll get back to you.

Quite a tricky question this one...there are a few great ones.
Megalomania obviously comes to mind first.
-
There's just too many, but one i'd like to mention is the ending of Symptom. So simple, so emotional, so powerful. And perfect with that acoustic flamenco-reggae groove going.

Just too many. The ones mentioned are indeed all great, and there are many more.

Not sure if they're the best but they deserve a mention. Never Say Die(All) The Thrill of it All(bridge) That's my story and I'm sticking to it etc, Sabbra Cadabra(All) Flying High Again(Verse, Pre chorus), Hellraiser(All)

"Spiral Architect"

OK, I thought and listened long and hard and came up with these selections. These are not necessarily favorite songs but it's more melody originality or how that melody fits with a song. From the "Great 8":
1. Wicked World
2. Hand of Doom
3. Solitude
4. Snowblind (especially "my eyes are blind...")
5. A National Acrobat
6. The Thrill of it All (the "well that's my story..." part)
7. Gypsy
8. Johnny Blade

On #5, you misspelled "Spiral Architect". But you absolutely got #6 right.
-
You also mispelled Junior's Eyes. The difference from the Walker version just shows Ozzys hunch for melodies.
-
OK guys, let's see your list. And again it's not necessarily you favorite song off an album.

Fair enough.
But I'm not going with one per album, as I feel that Ozzy's melodies didn't really kick in until Vol. 4.
1. Supernaut
2. Wheels of Confusion
3. Spiral Architect
4. Looking for Today
5. The Thrill of it All
6. The Writ (lots to like, here)
7. Shock Wave
8. A Hard Road
9. Waiting for Darkness
10. Bark at the Moon
