Yep, this is definitely an awesome bootleg.
-
It is indeed. Wonderful to have so many glimpses into the creative processes that birthed 'The Eternal Idol'.

Another favourite of mine, the Sheffield 1971-01-14 audience recording, which includes "After Forever" and "Into the Void". Both were rarely played (or at least rarely recorded) live during the 1970ies. And this show took place 6 months before MOR was released!

Thanx for posting. Really cool to hear the tunes being played such a long time before the album was recorded/released, much like many of the Paranoid tunes existed even before the release of the debut.

Imagine being at that show knowing the awesome shit that's gonna be on the next album?

I was born in 1978, so regrettably it was out of the question.;D But yes, I do imagine that frequently. I would have loved to be there!

Here's another rarely played one from the 70s:
They only did Wheels Of Confusion very early on the Vol4 Tour then dropped it...

Yes, indeed! I am only aware of three 1970ies live recordings of WOC:
7/15/72 Hara Arena, Dayton
8/27/72 Cobo Hall, Detroit (super-rare, not 100% sure it exists)
9/15/72 Hollywood Bowl, Los Angeles
All three recordings include "Under the Sun" as well (or are claimed to include it, in case of the Detroit recording).

Anyone seen this one yet:

Eternal Idol instrumental demos surfaced recently, too.

Oh? I hadn't heard about that yet! That's pretty cool. Got a link or something?

Sure.
What's the protocol though? Would you prefer if I PMed you with it?
There's some overlap with the Working Tracks, but the instrumental demos seem to have the overlapping material in higher quality.

Shall PM you then, as I don't believe they've hit Youtube just yet.

Rare and interesting boot from this short (Very Short!) lived line-up of:
Tony Iommi
Tony Martin
Dave Spitz
Bev Bevan
Geoff Nicholls

I'll say that was a short lineup! Surprised there wasn't a new bass player suddenly half way through the show, Iommi was going through a lot of sidemen at the time. :smug:
