I've been going on a YouTube binge watching lectures about the latest, unproven theories in science. Help me!!!

What's you need? I can go all Sheldon on you if you want!

I simply need to stop watching these videos, that's all. Any help in stopping would be helpful [emoji1]

Dude! I think I just heard the sound of one hand clapping in the forest with nobody there to hear it!

The basic idea of the holographic principle is that everything makes sense in one way when you think of it as a 2-D projection against the universal wall.
That doesn't ring true to me... much of what's involved in theoretical physics is conjecture to try to tie everything together.
What rings true to me is that everything is a 3-D projection against a wall of time-space. In that, if we are outside this system, looking in, we are not subject to any sort of time and that time itself becomes a viewed property. We would be able to reach in and make modifications to matter and then be able to see the implications of that change instantly both before and after the change.

Most interesting, sir!
Speaking of time, I was thinking, if time were to suddenly stop and start up again, we would have no way of knowing. Even if time were to freeze for a billion years (yeah, I know, you can't say time freezes for any amount of time). Maybe if time were to freeze for everything in the universe except for one elementary particle then, for billions of billions of years even, we would be unaware!

True. We have no idea if there are discrete interruptions of what we perceive to be the continuous function of time. Our frame of reference does not allow us to be aware of anything other than what exists in the flow of time. Or, rather, if we were to be aware of things outside of time, we would not have the language to explain it to others without making references to things normally associated with fantasy and madness.

???
The basics are this: In order for time to stop, you would have to be traveling at the speed of light, which is impossible. Therefore, time cannot stop. But, by virtue of relativity, it can be thought of as slowing down.

Correct. And for time to not even exist, one would have to be outside of normal timespace. This is why I love books like Edwin Abbott's "Flatland." Gives one the ability to think of additional dimensions.

True but this can also be looked from an opposite view. In order for Time to stop Light would have to stop as well...as in a cosmical scale the only way to measure time is the speed of light. So if time were to stop Light would have to stop moving. Which ofcourse is even more impossible than travelling at the speed of light.
Now bending space and time again would be possible using wormholes...which would be the most likely way for deep space travel by alien races.

Exactly why considering higher-dimensional geometries is essential to understanding the possibilities of what lies outside our ability to perceive. We must invent our own senses, if you will.

In other news, we now have a possible *fifth* basic force of nature that can help to explain a bunch of the dark energy/matter stuff.
-
Saw that myself.
Talking about the X17 boson. But frankly that could still just be an error in the measuring system. But if not it could be a step closer to dark energy.
-
I'm always hoping it's not a computational error. I love scientific breakthroughs.
And, no, I still haven't gotten over my disappointment with cold fusion. :(
-
Well Fusion is a possiblity still...cold fusion maybe not but fusion reactors are being tested constantly.
And maybe MAYBE if we do discover dark energy and most importantly find a way to harness it who knows...that could be a limitless source of power...but that's far away in the future unless we get some help from someone who have already mastered it...
-
As I understand it, the biggest problem with fusion is in both containing the reaction and in getting energy from it without destroying the conveyor of the energy.
It's like, you get infinite power if you touch the sun, but you first have to survive touching the sun...
