One too many, three sheets to the wind, spaced out, smokin' in the boys' room, and like I said the last time - it won't happen again! These are songs about, and I quote:
Rowdiness (Drunkeness, anarchy, bad behaviour, partying and such like)
Here's the song from 1954 that lends a lyric to the title of this thread, to inspire one and all:
Lonnie "The Cat" - I Ain't Drunk
:beerbang: :pub:
-
Hmmm....I think I'll need to really think about this one...not sure how many I can come up with!

AC/DC should have a few that fit this bill. :smug:
-
I need to get a list together, but it should be quite easy. I'll try and stick to just 1 song by the Macc Lads!
To add to the AC/DC suggestion I suspect Motorhead have a few too!
-
And there are LOTS from the Golden Age of Rock and Roll... like Louis Jordan's "Saturday Night Fish Fry", a classic.
Also, Jordan gave us "What's the Use of Getting Sober (When You're Gonna Get Drunk Again)"
I *might* be posting more than 10 to this thread. :smug:
-
I'll kick things off with a tune with an old russian vibe...
This is BLACKMORE's NIGHT having a TOAST TO TOMORROW!
-
Pick number 1 and the first song that came to mind...
Thunder - An Englishman on Holiday
A 1980s reputation that surely the Brits don't deserve anynore! :D
Off Thunders 1990 album Backstreet Symphony
-
My first offering: Alcohol by Tankard!
-
Deep Purple - "Almost Human"
Great song about being "crazy, on fire and naked... Just as Nature intended..."
-
^^
That one didn't even cross my mind! Great tune though!
In anticipation of the new Remix I'm going with a Black Sabbath tune that is about getting rowdy with someone elses racing car after few too many shots of Tequila.
-
Great song - can't believe it didn't even cross my mind!
-
Sabbath didn't even cross my mind, but yes the perfect choice there, well done sir!
-
Pick number 2
The Macc Lads - The Macc Lads Party
Not actually a live recording, just the studio version synced with a live show.
I can't see this being the only one from the guys from Macclesfield, they have a shed load of songs to choose from!
-
Municipal Waste tells us about Beer Pressure!
-
These are fun tracks, yeah!
And two surprises involving Big Ian, I approve!
This is a track done by the Flamin' Groovies first and then The Dictators later on, I prefer The Dictators' version of the two, since there's a maraca line in the FG version that keeps sending me up the wall.
While not a celebratory song, it *is* about dealing with the consequences of excess and then caving in to get "one more shot". Hence the title, "Slow Death". You can hear how similar The Dictators sound to Blue Oyster Cult at the same time. Well, they had the same producer/influence in Sandy Pearlman. While BOC were more firmly in hard rock, The Dictators had a sound with just enough punk in it to sit right on the line between punk and metal. While it worked for Motorhead, fame eluded The Dictators.

#3
Here's a song about the greatest beer in the world! And if any beer deserves a song it's most certainly the black stuff. So here's WOLFSBANE with their anthem BLACK LAGOON!
-
Here is my number three: Streams of Whiskey by The Pogues.
-
Speaking of the intersection of punk and hard rock... YouTube suggestions reminded me of this hot little cooker:
Thee Trash Brats - "Must Be the Cocaine"
One of the best singalong choruses, ever. "Must be the coooooooooooooo-caine!"
-
Pick number 3, and one of, if not THE bad boy of rock...
Ozzy Osbourne - No Bone Movies
This is a fun song about watching porn, it's not a classic track, but it is quite good.
-
#4
Here's a song about a bar and the reasons people go into it.
This is SAVATAGE telling the story of SKRAGGY's TOMB!
-
Buckcherry arrives as my number 4 with Lit Up.
I think it's a song about cocaine. That he loves. A lot.
-
Pick number 4...
Motorhead - (We Are) The Road Crew
-
Great Motorhead tune - a fitting description of what was no doubt a vortex of swirling, drug and booze-fueled chaos when they toured.
Number 5 from me is a touching tribute to Vodka, performed by those roguish rascals Korpiklaani:
"Drinking is good for you!"
-
Hahah! Only a finnish band could do a tribute song to vodka...well and the russians ofcourse!
My number 5 is about the events after a rowdy night out with too much booze and getting too intimate with a woman other than your wife.
This is MEGADETH about to WAKE UP DEAD!
-
For my pick number 5 and we're back to the Spanish Train and Other Stories album...
Chris de Burgh - Patricia the Stripper
This one harkens back to the good ol' days!!
-
Had to do it.
Number 6.
Have a Drink on Me - AC/DC
-
Pick Six
The Damned - Smash It Up (Parts 1 & 2)
It's only really part 2 which is relevant, the first part is a gentle instrumental!! I really loved this when it first came out, I still like it today but the initial surprise has long since faded.
-
Great tunes, all of 'em. :smug:
Now here's two more: First is Rory Gallagher doing "Too Much Alcohol"
It's about a situation in which one has, um... too much alcohol. The plot of the song is in the title...
And then, because the other tunes reminded me of it, one from Roy Harper, "Advertisement"
It's from Harper's mid-80s effort with Jimmy Page that DEFINITELY has 80s production values all over it, but this song has always stuck out to me with its chorus, "I'm really stoned / Really stoned / Permanently out my bone / I'm really stoned"
-
For my 6th I'm gonna kick out a MOTÖRHEAD tune as well...This is one called BORN TO RAISE HELL!
-
Pick number 7
The Stranglers - Go Buddy Go
The only song by them that really fits the bill, I thought there would be more. But if they only have the 1 then this is a good one, about partying and having a good time. Also showcases Dave Greenfield's great keyboard skills.
-
Number 7: Dropkick Murphys singing about a Barroom Hero:
-
For my #7 I'm gonna go back to the WOLFSBANE!
Here's a track about hitting the Pubs with your mates and getting so wild you'll PAINT THE TOWN RED!!!
-
Pick number 8 and a returning contributor!
The Macc Lads - Chester Zoo
Just like any other day trip to the zoo!!
-
San Francisco's answer to Hawkwind, The Tubes:
"White Punks on Dope" - Live at Winterland, 1975
See, it's about these white punks... and, like... they're on dope... :smug: There were a bunch of dudes that would turn up at The Tubes concerts, all dressed up in suits and high as hell from the money they got from their rich parents. This song is about them.
-
Number 8: W.A.S.P. – Blind in Texas
-
For my #8 here's a track from DEEP PURPLE telling a story of what happened when some asian working ladies invite people on top of a skyscraper with a LOT of booze!
You might feel you're ON TOP OF THE WORLD...untill you don't.
-
Pick 9... and a different kind of rowdiness!
The Jam - The Eton Rifles
The posh boys doing what they want to!
-
Number 9: Guns N' Roses – Nightrain
-
My #9 is one from WITCHBURN about having WHISKEY ON MY BREATH!
-
Amos Milburn - "Bad Bad Whiskey"
Very old school, one of those songs that defined what was becoming rock and roll, and all about that demon alcohol...
-
I was struggling a bit to think of song #10 which didn;t invlove re-using a act I've already included... then someone I know was talking Thin Lizzy early, which put this one into my mind...
Thin Lizzy - The Boys Are Back in Town
The rowdiness is hinted at in the first half of the song, and comes about in the second half!
-
Saving the best for last!
This is the ULTIMATE rowdy song and it comes from BLACK LABEL SOCIETY and it's called BERSERKERS!
-
That BLS tune is rowdy for sure!
My number 10 is by a band from down under. Perhaps not quite as well known as AC/DC :).
Airbourne – Too Much, Too Young, Too Fast
