What about posting stuff that one might consider collectibles or pondering about the collectible status of an item...
Anywyas I was cleaning one of my closets and found something I had completely forgotten I even had!
This:

The picture of Ozzy on what appears to be faux marble looking frame with his signature on a brass (?) plaque....
I remember winning this item from a record store contest sometimes in the early 2000s...it says 1999 on the plaque so I'm assuming my memory is rather correct.
I do not know anything else about the picture...is it something that's been more videly available or something of a limited run...
Is it valuable? Who knows..I doubt it...But it's still a nice little collectible I think...eventhough I had completely forgotten about it's existence!

If there's a limited run, there should be a number somewhere on the piece indicating it is number X of Y many printed, something like that.
I've got a piece with Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash in a photo with a plaque quote beneath it and their signatures, and while it wasn't a limited production run, they eventually stopped manufacturing them, so over the course of time it acquires rarity and all. But for me, I have it because I like Elvis and Johnny and the quote is always interesting for me to read when I pass by it.
I'll need to take photos of my old Chinese Communist posters and get them online so I can share the images. There is a very interesting story to them, which is why I have them facing each other in my office.

When I dabbled with eBay many years ago, I did bid on and won a signed Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring script. It was signed by all the fellowship actors, plus Bilbo and Elrond. While it did come with a CoA, I do have my doubts!

I have the original art print for a billboard advertisement that was used in New York City announcing a Velvet Underground gig at Max's Kansas City in 1970. It's signed by the artist. Obviously for the billboards it was blown up, the artwork is something like 15" x 35". It's pretty cool, have no idea if it has any value at all.

As an aside - about 25 years ago my parents sold a painting they had. They are not art people - my dad had been willed the painting by his grandfather, and no one knows where he got it. It was small, like 8x10 inches, of two black women picking cotton in a field. On the back was handwritten "Slaves picking cotton" then signed by the artist. Who I don't recall, and no one had ever heard of him at the time I was growing up.
Anyway, my dad started looking into it 25 years ago and it turned out the artist was somewhat collectable, and his paintings of the American south were hot at the time. He contacted an art consignment place and they auctioned it. After fees and such, my parents took home $72,000 for that stupid little painting!
So, cool thread Charger, you just never know what you might have!
Oh, and to just to add - they never hung it out on a wall, no one wanted to look at a painting of slaves, and I imagine whoever bought it did so as an investment. Or maybe they were rich racists and wanted it in their living room!

Wow! That's very cool! I know fuck all about art...But that kind of a thing is nice surprise find!
KDC, feel free to post a picture of that! Would love to see it. I think there's about 98% chance it's real...usually they do few signed script copies for movies to either give away at some sort of a contest or sell them for charity. I've seen few but they have always been so big bucks that I couldn't even think about affording one. :D
As far as my picture goes I tried searching it but came up short...there was one guy in Bulgaria selling one for 150€...but that was the only one I could find....So it might be bit on the rare side but certainly not valuable.

When I had more disposable income I would collect Transformers and I have quite a few ones that are worth some money
I used to buy music on a daily basis but now I am very picky about what I buy.
I still buy the odd blu ray and DVD but I have so many that I have decided to stop buying for awhile and watch what is here
I have some signed cds from Sabbath and I have some very rare
CDS especially my thrash metal collection
I just don't have the room to keep up and money is not good lately 🙃

@Charger
I'll see if I can find it, it's lurking in the dark recesses of a cupboard somewhere!

This is a 9 x 14 inch picture that came with something I must have bought many years ago because of my love for anything Batman. It is printed on ordinary paper, yet has no tears or bent corners. There are only some crease lines from the way it had been folded in the package when I received it, and is therefore in pristine condition.
I have looked on ebay to see if anyone else has one, but have not seen any. Just larger similar looking posters. The second photo is a closeup of the printing in the lower right corner, proving that in 4 more years this picture will be 50 years old.
