What albums are you expecting for the next year...
Here's a primer video from Classic Rock Reviews about what they are hoping for and have release dates for.
-
I'm looking forward to
Death Angel
Alice Cooper
Down
Savatage
Megadeth
Anthrax
Solitude Aeturnus (Wishful thinking I know..)
Rob Zombie
Tim Ripper Owens
Sky Valley Mistress
And ofcourse the Ian Gillan Boxset which I've already pre-orederd..
I'm sure some others will pop up as well...
But all in all this is looking like it's gonna be a big year!
EDIT:
Savage Master just announced their new album coming in March! Woohoo!
-
But all in all this is looking like it's gonna be a big year!
Agree with that! Not sure what I'm going to be picking up yet.
-
COME ON SKY VALLEY MISTRESS YOU CAN DO IT IN 2025!!!
-
This one came out of nowhere!
DON AIREY is putting out a solo album and it's out on March 28th and here's a first track from it called TELL ME and it's quite the metal rocker!
This one went on my list!
-
Whooooooooooooooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa :headbanger: :headbanger: :headbanger: :headbanger: :headbanger:
-
Joining Airey on the new album is an all-star lineup featuring Carl Sentance (NAZARETH) and Mitchell Emms ("The Voice UK") on vocals, DEEP PURPLE guitarist Simon McBride, drummer Jon Finnigan, and bassist Dave Marks.
No surprise on McBride, as he came into Deep Purple because of his being in Airey's solo project band. Vocals have a Uriah Heep feel to them, really liking that. And the keyboard-guitar attack is great stuff.
-
This just arrived from Rosetta Stone:
https://rosettastoneuk.bandcamp.com/album/nothing-is-sacred
(https://f4.bcbits.com/img/a0683475293_10.jpg)
Goth rock reworks of some classic rock and metal standards, includes a cover of N.I.B... very interesting takes, I'm enjoying them.
-
Another year, another Hawkwind album!
There Is No Space For Us - April 18th
-
New Robin Trower in April, lead track sounds clean and mean!
https://robintrower.bandcamp.com/album/come-and-find-me
(https://f4.bcbits.com/img/a3376908491_16.jpg)
-
Sons of Arrakis also promising Volume III this year... yesssss!
-
Some interesting heavy stuff from Miss Lava coming in April. I'm interested.
-
This one's a May release... the sample track is a strong NWOBHM-style banger. I'm interested. Vocals remind me of Budgie, in a good way. Guitars remind me of Diamond Head, also in a good way.

SKY VALLEY MISTRESS DROPS A NEW SINGLE TOMORROW!!!

https://skyvalleymistress.bandcamp.com/community
-
Wait, did I just miss it because my stoopid meeting went long? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Wait, I went back to 20:05 and I am playing it now! Oh man, I gots the chills from this!
It's got a great goth energy to it and they sound like they're in top form.
-
While still stoked about the SVM, there is other new music to plumb and explore...
Don Airey's new album disappointingly *not* on digital release as yet. I shall have to speak to management about that! But that's after I do some other shopping for my ears...
https://savagemagicrecords.bandcamp.com/album/second-to-none
(https://f4.bcbits.com/img/a3932873716_16.jpg)
Stacy Crowne goes for the energy, even when they're playing slow. I've popped this into my shopping cart. Now for Mr. Airey's album to come out on digital...
-
Listening to the new Sky Valley Mistress now....
I'm quite not fully on board with this one...it's bit too drum machine-y for my liking. And the vibe of awesomeness that was present on the first album isn't there anymore. The main riff is good though.
Short track though. I am still looking forward to the rest of the album. Most certainly not giving up on them yet.
-
Trying out the new Don Airey before I buy. Opening track, as we all heard, is a total face-ripper.
Second track isn't as fast, but it is a heavy tune, for sure. Singer is like a high-pitched Ian Gillan doing a Uriah Heep impersonation. I find it good, by the time I got to the 3rd song, I was into it.
Oh yeah, the third song is another strong tune. Speaking of Uriah Heep... this one's got plenty of crunch and melody in it. We can tell that Mr. Airey's played in a LOT of bands, and he's been having a heavy history made manifest here. It gets a strong groove in the middle. "Moon Rising" is a fun tune for jammin, yes it is. The fun continues through the proggy finish. Which reminds me, Don's also done a good deal of prog work.
"Rock the Melody" covers much ground in its first 2 minutes, but it's only 4 minutes long. Iron Maiden take note - there can be lots of complication in a composition, but it doesn't have to last all day long! :)
"Flame in the Water" - also good. Sorry, I'm trying to do an album review while adding my bank info to my company's payroll system so I can get on autopay...
Overall sound is very close to DP's Purpendicular-Abandon period. Speaking of DP, that guitarist chap is shining out here along Mr. Airey. I like that pairing, they're strong together. "Out of Focus" is a good song. I need to get back to that payroll app, just a sec...
7 songs in and I got more work piling up. These are good songs. I will buy this album. It is good. It rocks. Good variety. Old dudes know how to rock it out, for sure!

For the first time in over 50 years, Alice Cooper and the original band reunite to bring rock ‘n’ roll back from the shadows! The Revenge of Alice Cooper is a high-voltage journey into vintage horror and classic ’70s shock rock. Together, they’ve created an album packed with the sound, energy, and mischief that made them legendary.
This album throws you straight into the golden era of Killer, Billion Dollar Babies, School’s Out, and Love It To Death—packed with electrifying riffs, raw energy, and Alice’s signature storytelling. From the venomous bite of Black Mamba to the rebellious charge of Wild Ones, and the soft, haunting melodies of See You on the Other Side, every track feels like a lost rock ‘n’ roll classic.
Tracklist
1. Black Mamba
2. Wild Ones
3. Up All Night
4. Kill The Flies
5. One Night Stand
6. Blood On The Sun
7. Crap That Gets In The Way Of Your Dreams
8. Famous Face
9. Money Screams
10. What A Syd
11. Inter Galactic Vagabond Blues
12. What Happened To You
13. I Ain’t Done Wrong
14. See You On The Other Side
Release date: July 25, 2025

I''m looking forward to that AC release! Hot damn!
-
Holy mackerel!!!
Was not expecting that!
Awesome news indeed!
-
New single BLACK MAMBA is out now!
It's got a nice groove and classic style lyrics but I'm not completely sold on the track though...lacks some grit I think...
-
Mr. Cooper sure pulled out the nostalgia singing on that one - amazing how good he sounds. The video was odd, not in a good way, and I can do without the ya-ya-ya-ya-ya-ya-ya-ya bit, seems like it doesnt fit with the rest of the song. I bet they had a blast putting it together.
-
Thanks for posting the video, Charger; although Black Mamba was released a couple of days ago, I just watched the vid. and listened to the song for my 1st time here and now. My initial reaction? The into. kind of reminds me of their 'esoteric' material on their 1st 2 albums at times; the balance of the song sounds more like an Alice-solo tune to me, but noticeably better in terms of overall quality. As for the 'ya-ya's', I don't mind the melody so much. The 'lyric' doesn't exactly epitomize creativity - perhaps actually words should have been written or guitar utilized playing the same melodic notes instead. I agree w/Vyn's appraisal above re. Alice's singing on the rest of the song.
Based on my initial reaction to BM - it's fairly good - my hopes for the rest of the album have improved somewhat.

Miss Lava has a new album out to-day:
https://smallstone.bandcamp.com/album/under-a-black-sun
Playing it now, the single "Woe Warrior". It's dark and has that doomy minor key stuff working for it. Now to try the rest of it out with a little preview...
Opening track is strong, heavy stuff with a slow pace and a steady heartbeat. Next track flows nicely off the first, a little faster, still very heavy. I'm gonna let things play as I do my expense reports and stuff...
... well, it's very much that way through the whole album. No fast bangers and the one song goes into the next almost unnoticeably. I'm not happy with that, so this one's a pass for me. But, if you're looking for about 50 mins of consistent heavy rock for playing in the background, this could be OK. But I can find similar background music for a lower price - already have a few albums that have become that after the initial spark wore off - so I gotta pass on this one.
-
NOW THIS IS MORE LIKE IT!!
The new ALICE COOPER track WILD ONES is out and it's a proper rock 'n roll tune!
Now this I like! A LOT!
-
Thanks for posting the video Charger. I've only watched it and heard the song once; I think it's somewhat better than Black Mamba as my opinion re. the latter song has diminished somewhat after hearing it a couple more times.

A definite step up from BM! It's not, "Under My Wheels," and recapturing something like, "Ballad of Dwight Fry," or even, "Black JuJu," is not something I am expecting. With that in mind, those guys are doing a great job with the tunes and Cooper's voice is astounding! Looking forward to the album even more!
-
This one sounds interesting, releases in a few days, guitar player sounds like he's following Tony Iommi's playbook. https://ripplemusic.bandcamp.com/album/apocalypso
NZ thrashers Te Ra came out in March with this one: https://alienweaponry.bandcamp.com/album/te-r If ya like the thrashy stuff, worth checking out these lads.
Robin Trower had a release in May: https://robintrower.bandcamp.com/album/come-and-find-me I plan to listen to it some more. Opening track has me definitely interested.
Not a lot of product coming forth in 2025, though.
-
Heck, I didn't realize Robin Trower was still releasing music. I live a sheltered life :)

His "Joyful Sky" from 2023 was a great album, well worth getting. I got mine from Bandcamp.
-
Following up on Mr. Trower's latest... it didn't grab me the same way as did Joyful Sky, but it is still a pleasant listen. I might need to have it grow on me, we'll see.
-
The Supernaughty album was OK, but not great. Couple of good riffs, but nothing that got me really going.
This year is pretty sparse for releases, it seems.
-
Sky Valley Mistress' album got through the test pressing phase. I feel good about getting a SVM album this year. :smug:
-
Got that message too...won't be buying the test pressing though! Not that I'd have a chance. However I WILL preorder the vinyl though...only 100 available on bandcamp so hopefully I'll get my hands on one.
-
Sadly the new SKY VALLEY MISTRESS album isn't coming in 2025.... :(
Instead January 23rd 2026!
Just preordered the vinyl!

The best album of 2025 will be released in 2026.
Did my pre-order, as well. New single "Thundertaker" is a right banger:
Fast, hard, heavy, and Hell Kitten lets the fur fly with her vocals.
And check out the album packaging - it's got a paper model in it! Loads of cool stuffs!
Although I'm digital-only, this kind of stuff makes me happy. It's art the way the artist wants it, not some corporate ghoul's idea of what's commercially viable product.
-
Yes I'm really digging this new song. Much better than the previous one for sure!
And yeah the Vinyl looks to be quite the package! Can't wait!

Glad to see The Marlboro Men got a record out this year, I like their brand of instrumental stoner metal. This one's strong, for sure.
-
So, to wrap up... I got four (4) new albums this year, so they all easily make it to my top 5 list. :smug:
I picked up:
1. The Marlboro Men - The Riddle of Steel
2. Stacy Crowne - Second to None
3. Don Airey - Pushed to the Edge
4. Rosetta Stone - Nothing Is Sacred
That's it. All my other acquisitions were old disco, funk, soul, doo-wop, rock, and gospel for my radio shows and general fun times. I played each of the above four a good number of times, each is pretty dang good. Of the four, the one by The Marlboro Men will likely get played the most because it's great for long drives. I can just take the four albums I have of theirs, drop them in the player, and keep myself happily awake for hours.
Looking forward to 2026, we have some good stuff on the way.
-
I only bought one new album this year!!
Hawkwind - There Is No Space For Us
I did get a few oldies as well...
Already looking at 2 new albums for 2026: The Damned and Megadeth. Possibly a new Hawkwind album which in recent years gets announceed in February!
-
This has been a rather dry year for new music indeed!
I count two new albums
ALICE COOPER - The Revenge of...
Savage Master - Dark & Dangerous
Savage Master was excellent Alice was very good.
Then one new old song from Cathedral and the boxset from Dream Theater...
That's pretty much it...will check better soon..
Edit:
Forgot the Ian Gillan Boxset....
-
On what will come out next year...
Well I know from trusted sources Tony Iommi is putting finishing touches on a new solo album right now so that most likely will come out next year and that will be something to look forward to.
Death Angel's long awaited new album will NOT be arriving next year...arse.
Anthrax on the otherhand is FINALLY getting their album out!
Ofcourse the new Megadeth will kick the year off...and I'm expecting this doing a Saxon on us and it might be the top album of the year right off the bat.
Rob Zombie's new album The Great Satan is coming
Blaze Bayley might get a new album out...but it is bit unlikely. But he does work really fast so who knows....
Savatage is a possibility...
Metal Church is coming
Saxon is more than possible.
Solitude Aeturnus unlikely but possible
Black Label Society is potentially doing a new album, they have done few tracks already...
So there are some possibilities.
I did forget to mention one 2025 album DREAM THEATER's Parasomnia which I have not gotten yet but it is a good one...and I will be getting it when I'm going to pick up Megadeth.
-
Looks like quite a few awesome releases are on deck for 2026!

Here's another one, which is currently my most anticipated release for next year: Queen II reissue. Thus far it appears it will be similar to the reissue of their self-titled debut album, which was re-titled Queen I for it's re-release.
