After 12 games of the 24/25 season we actually have a front runner for a change. Liverpool are 8 points clear of Manchester City who have just suffered their 5th straight defeat in a row, 3 of them in the league. Their most recent defeat was at home to Tottenham (0-4) which would have made Jack very happy. There is then a gaggle of teams on 22 thru 17 points.
1. Liverpool played 12, won 10, drawn 1, lost 1 with 31 points
2. Manchester City P12, W7, D2, L3 on 23pts
3. Chelsea P12 W6 D4 L2 on 22pts
4. Arsenal P12 W6 D4 L2 on 22pts
5. Brighton P12 W6 D4 L2 on 22pts
Adrift at the bottom are Southampton on 4pts... yay!

Hadn't thought of Mr. Stripper in a long time, hope he's well.

Liverpool's doing good...AGAIN.
Problem with the premier league is starting to be it's the same teams over and over at the top....it would be nice to see a real surprise team make it to the top...I guess Brighton in top 5 does count as such though...?

With just 4 games to go and except for the European places the Premiere League is all wrapped up. Liverpool won at the weekend after beating Spurs 5-1 to put them 15 points clear of Arsenal with only 12 left to play for (82 to 67). Arsenal are probably safe in second 5pts clear of Newcastle who lead a group of 5 teams battling for the 3 remaining Champions League places... we get 5 spots this year for some reason! As well as Newcastle we have Manchester City, Chelsea, Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa are all in touching distance of positions 3-5!
At the bottom the relegated teams have been confirmed with 4 games to go... the earliest that has happened. The teams going down are the three teams who came up last year, Ipswich, Leicester and Southampton (Yay!!), which sorta hi-lights the gulf between the Premiership and the Championship at the moment. Anyway Southampton are on 11pts which is the joint lowest in the era of the Premiership, but they still have games to get the point that would save them from that shame!
