Title: Glenn Hughes Singing Stuff He Did with Iommi
Post by: Zzzptm on February 17, 2018, 11:16:02 AM
If Glenn's singing what he did with Purple, I'll put it in the Purple part of the forums.  :smug:

Glenn with Rata Blanca, "No Stranger to Love"

Only 2 screams that make me say, "GLENN!!! WTF???" An otherwise great ballad, Rata Blanca does a fine job backing him up. I find that Glenn can often do a better job with Seventh Star material in recordings done *after* the 80s.

Makes me wonder... what if album Seventh Star had different production, would it have been generally better received? Because even crappy quality demo recordings point to something better than what's on them. This performance isn't a matter of a Fender vs. Gibson making a difference, but rather a much better overall sound than the production on the original album.

Have to say, though, the Fender makes it sound closer to Rainbow that Black Sabbath, lol.
