Title: Pelé Has Left the Building
Post by: Vyn on December 29, 2022, 03:16:39 PM
He was the first football celebrity I knew anything about as a kid. The fact that a kid in the middle of the USA in the late sixties knew, and discussed, Pelé with his friends, and who all were inspired to play soccer ('cuz that's what we called it) in their backyards by the guy, speaks volumes to how much of a big deal he was.

RIP O Rei do Futebol.

I played soccer as a kid because of Pele. Even 82 seems too soon for a man of his legend.

Pele was one of the true legends of the game for sure!

Alongside Mohammed Ali, Pele is the personification of a sporting legend.

82 is a good age, but it's still a big loss to the world of football.
