Watching some footage from the film from the Nassau Coliseum Uniondale Long Island, 17 October 1980. Saw it all years ago when I was a kid and the local art theater had a triple feature with this one, a Jimi Hendrix documentary, and The Song Remains the Same. Not gonna talk about how the Zep film was a distant third, but those who stuck through it got to see this one at the end, and man!
It's great being able to see footage of the band back in 1980, not just hearing the tracks, but seeing them performed. My favorite has always been "Die Young", which aired as a separate clip once on a very early music video program that was on a microwave subscription channel that my dad pirated back in the day. I hadn't started buying records yet, but I saw that clip and was blown away. When I actually found it on an album, I had a happy, happy rockin' day!
Starts here at 4:16, after BOC finishes "Born to be Wild", another of my faves from the film.

Thanks for the post - awesome to see and hear them tearing the stage up. I remember when it was announced that Dio was joining Sabbath. I thought, "Dio is awesome, Sabbath is my fave band, but this is going to suck!" Ozzy and Dio both have such distinctive vocals, and are at opposite ends of the spectrum, my young brain couldn't fathom it. Sometimes I turn out to be wrong about some things lol.

Well...sometimes it's a blessing to be wrong! :D
I recall there being talks about this getting an official release again but nothing has come of it I think...which is a real shame.

Be nice if it did get a re-release. Until then, I'll watch it on YouTube and then have it get me to start going through old airings of Don Kirshner's Rock Show, The Midnight Special, and Rockpalast.

Shitload of great broadcasts on Rockpalast! Man I love watching those! The 2009 H&H show being one of the very best!

Indeed. Music to savor, even from many decades ago!

I LOVE BOC  and Dio was the only person who could come after Ozzy, it was meant to be. That would be a dream show for me.
