The UK's Planet Rock Radio held a poll of it's listeners over the last few weeks to determine the greatest rock song ever. Today - being a public holiday - they played them all in order. No, I didn't listen, I know what these lists are like, the usual suspects all the way through.
Here's the listing:

and I was more or less right.
Bearing in mind that Planet Rock doesn't cater for extreme / obscure rock the top 10 is:
10. Meat Loaf - Bat Out of Hell
09. AC/DC - Back in Black
08. AC/DC - Whole Lotta Rosie
07. Alter Bridge - Blackbird (the only song on the entire list from the 21st century!)
06. Led Zeppelin - Kashmir
05. Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb
04. Lynyrd Skynyrd - Free Bird
03. Rainbow - Stargazer
02. Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven
01. Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody (Their only song on the entire list)

^ Correction: number 8 should be "Whole Lotta Rosie", not Love. :D
Surprised to see Rainbow's Stargazer so high in the ratings. Pleasantly surprised, I should say.
-
Yeah very surprised to see Stargazer so high on the list! Top 3! That's an awesome result ...

@Zs
Duly corrected, although Whole Lotta Love is on the list but much lower down!
Stargazer has always been a popular song among UK rock fans, when BBC Radio 1s Tommy Vance did his annual listener survey Top 10 back in the 80s, Stargazer was always in the top 5. That list usually had Stairway at #1 and Child in Time was up there too, but no BoRhap anywhere in the 10.

Just going through the full listing and seeing Paranoid only at #21 and War Pigs #24...and Heaven And Hell at #31...I would have thought they'd rank bit higher...But Smoke On The Water is on #11 so one could say this round went for Ritchie...HOWEVER (dramatic pause) Ritchie only had 3 songs in the list...Tony had 4 overall!
So can Tony now go:
:evillaugh:
?

... then Angus Young rolls up...

....and does this to Tony:
:buhbye:
