Did some digging for my soul show yesternight and came across this scorcher of a tune:
That's one of the earliest recordings of Jimi Hendrix, and given the dispute over his possible recordings with Little Richard, may be the earliest one we can attest to as a valid Jimi Hendrix contribution. And it's clearly Hendrix work, there's no mistaking the sound.
Listening in was a young Ernie Isley, who would go on to play some majorly Hendrix-flavoured solos with the Isley Brothers in the 70s. He's a fantastic player in his own right, but this thread is for Mr. Hendrix, who inspired many, influenced many more, and left us too soon. This nugget from 1964 is an incredible track, I hope you all enjoy it!
