Thought we would should have an all things Vinyl thread.

General questions, discussion/post photos of albums, collections, setups, opinions on different pressings, boxsets, reissue’s anything and everything related to Vinyl.

Yes a welcome idea!

I think I have to take out my vinyls and photograph them then...I have been planning to do that at some point anyways as I'd like to start adding to my collection...especially finding some missing Sabbath and DIO albums.

Over the last 3 to 4 years I have been slowly getting rid of my Vinyl. The only ones I have left are my dad's Dean Martin collection. I even got rid of all my Sabbath Vinyl!!
It was partly to downsize and I like CDs more anyway.

Well shit...I think we could have made a deal with those Sabbath ones if you had something I was missing...although the postage would have been waaaay too expensive anyways.

I had all the Sabbath albums excluding the IRS Tony Martin ones. I stupidly did not even think about offering them to one of you. It was hard to get rid of them but my place is so small and like I mentioned I much prefer CDs.

Well that's okay...like I said the postage would have killed that deal anyways...

:D

When I moved, I gave all my vinyl to a younger friend who had a lot more storage room at her place - it's a converted barn out in the country where she lives, lots of room for those plastic platters. CDs went, as well. I'm all digital, but I do remember the romance of the new record. I've been a DJ with her for 5 years, so I knew they'd all get a good home.

I know Jack is going to post a bunch of pics, so I wanted to beat him to the punch with one I just listened to, French pressing from Bronze (please excuse the glare):

That was a really fun set. Question... have you heard Johnny Kidd's original of "Please Don't Touch"? It's some fun rockabilly, I tell you what!

Yes sir, love me some rockabilly tunes. You may have heard it already, but Lemmy, Slim Jim Phantom and Danny B. got together once and called themselves The Headcat. All covers of old stuff, pretty cool.

Check out the Twisting Tarantulas out of Detroit for some good tunes, too. Maybe you already have I know I was hawking for them a long time ago at BSO.

Can do! Most of what I go through is from the 50s, but the modern stuff can rock just the same.

My Gillan collection

Very cool. I have Future Shock and Double Trouble. Jeez, I haven’t spun them in such a long time. Might have to now.

Love this. There’s also a Japanese die-cut 12” version called Motorschool with 3 extra tracks and some cool cartoon artwork that I’d like to own. Thanks for sharing.

Ok seeing as I’ve recently added to it with the 4 new remastered reissues I thought I’d post my Dio vinyl collection.

I could’ve sworn I had Live in London on red vinyl as well  :o :-\

Im really gonna have to work on getting Strange Highways. Will have to be the 2018 reissue though as the original 93 pressing goes for $250-$350. Wish I had’ve got that Decade of Dio boxset that came out about 3-4 years ago  :wall:
