Civ 7
« on: February 15, 2025, 07:51:25 AM »
Been playing Civ since 1991, and Civ 7 is a banger! Yes, there are some balance/UI issues as in all new release games, but only minor ones in this case. I've finished 2 full games and am about to wrap up my third. Because what you do in one part of the game influences the next - and even future games - planning out how things connect over time is a brilliant new wrinkle in the standard 4X play.

It plays much faster than Civ 6, much less clicking, and much better challenges towards the end of the game. I am enjoying it greatly.

I remember playing Civ 2 back in the day but was put off by the slowness of the turn based gameplay and went with Settlers instead! And later ofcourse C&C and Red Alert!

The turns are definitely much faster paced... UNLESS one is involved in a global war against 5 other civs in the modern age. Then there is much clicking of units. But very fast resolution and once the war is over, the turns zip by.
