Death, death and more death

It has not been a good day. As mentioned elsewhere we saw the death of the great actor Ray Liotta at 67. But also  we have lost Yes drummer Alan White at 72 (after a short illness) and also Depeche Mode keyboard player Andy Fletcher at only 60.

What terrible news to wake up to. Ray Liotta was one of my faves. First saw him in Something Wild alongside Melanie Griffith & Jeff Daniels and instantly loved him and knew he was gonna be something great. A few years later he stars in Goodfellas and absolutely nails Henry Hill. Should’ve won the Oscar for that stellar performance. His career didn’t take off as a leading man the way it probably should’ve after that but still made a lot of good movies and played great roles but surprisingly never worked with Scorsese again after Goodfellas.

I always liked Ray Liotta, he was a good actor and I think he kind of got pigeon-holed after the success of Something Wild and Goodfellas. RIP

When I'm in the right mood, I love listening to Yes. Alan White had been with them for so long that it's hard to remember Bill Bruford. RIP

Depeche Mode was never my thing. Before I got married I dated a girl who was a big fan, so I tried to get into their music but just couldn't. I don't dislike it nor like it. Other than knowing that Andy Fletcher played in that group, I don't know anything about him. But RIP - 60 is too young.

Depeche Mode were pretty big in the UK during the 80s and still have a large following. And don't forget the Born Again album having the same baby image as one of their singles back in the day.

But Sabbath did evilize the baby though.

Not familiar with Yes or Depeche Mode at all myself to be honest...couldn't name (or recognize) a single song from either band.

Ray Liotta hits me hardest. The guy had a lot of heart and that always came out in his roles.

He truly had a lot of heart always in his acting which sets him apart from many others that's for sure.

Very saddned to hear about the passing of actress Anne Heche...I always liked her.

I had no idea she was in such a bad place and struggling with addiction...

But what a horrible way to go though...

I've been following it for the last few days, very sad not a nice way to go at all. Not seen much of her work but I knew the name and remember her (mainly from the remake of Psycho). RIP
